Holland Groves Schneller & Stolze has announced the filing of what is believed to be the first federal lawsuit against Carrier IQ arising from the violations of federal wiretap laws. The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of Illinois, also names phone maker HTC.

Federal Judge Richard Stearns in Boston has appointed a leadership structure to lead a consolidated group of class actions against JPMorgan Chase Bank arising out of mortgage modifications, including the appointment of HGSS partner Eric Holland to the Executive Committee.

On May 5th, the members of BLET Division 106 in Muncie, Indiana helped honor their fallen brother, Jeff York, when they participated with Jeff's widow, Lisa, in dedicating an interlocker near Muncie as "York Point".

HGSS Managing Partner Eric D. Holland was recently appointed to the Executive Committee for the IKO Shingle MultiDistrict Litigation (MDL) pending in Urbana, Illinois. This litigation is a consolidation of class action cases filed across the United States involving a variety of alleged defects in certain IKO roofing shingles.

Holland, Groves, Schneller & Stolze, LLC has obtained preliminary approval of a class action against U.S. Title Guaranty Company (“U.S. Title”) in Circuit Court of St. Louis City, Missouri, alleging that U.S. Title collected certain fees at settlements from consumers and did not always perform the corresponding service in violation of Missouri law. Under the terms of the settlement, all class members from whom fees were collected and no service was performed are eligible to receive a full refund of the fees collected. In addition, U.S. Title has modified its practice with respect to the imposition, collection and disposition of the fees at issue.
