On May 5th, the members of BLET Division 106 in Muncie, Indiana helped honor their fallen brother, Jeff York, when they participated with Jeff's widow, Lisa, in dedicating an interlocker near Muncie as "York Point". Jeff was tragically killed in May of 2005 when he was crushed while riding a train movement into an industry near Muncie. Lisa and her two children hired the attorneys of HGSS and after a hard fought legal battle, the case was resolved in 2007. But Jeff's memory will now live on for all railroaders in a very real way with the dedication of York Point. According to HGSS' Eric Holland, "seeing the York Point sign is a high water mark in my legal career. It speaks to the character of the people that we represent and the hard-working folks who make this country's railroads move. I am proud of the work of the Division 106 members in ensuring that Jeff's memory lives on like this." For photos of York Point, see below.
